DEFINITIONS:
  • Noun: A person, place, thing, or idea (teacher, school, book, happiness)
  • Verb: An action word (run, jump, read, think)
  • Adjective: Describes a noun (red, beautiful, clever, loud)
  • Adverb: Describes a verb (quickly, slowly, happily, today)
EXAMPLE: "run" is a Verb (action), "quickly" is an Adverb (describes how), "beautiful" is an Adjective (describes appearance), "teacher" is a Noun (person).

  • Subject Pronouns: I, you, he, she, it, we, they (do the action)

EXAMPLES:

IMPORTANT GRAMMAR RULES:
  • Subject-Verb Agreement: Singular subjects take singular verbs (he runs, she writes)
  • Plural Subjects: Plural subjects take plural verbs (they run, we write)
  • Third Person Singular: Add -s or -es to verbs with he/she/it (he teaches, she goes)
